Community Greening, in collaboration with the Parks Foundation of Palm Beach County, Palm Health Foundation and the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department, came together to plant 21 new Florida native shade trees at Triangle Park in the Glades on Saturday, October 25.

This community-driven effort represents the most recent project supported by the Parks Foundation of Palm Beach County, continuing its mission to enhance public spaces through partnerships that promote sustainability, health and community connection. The new trees, including Green Buttonwood, Dahoon Holly, Southern Red Cedar and Southern Live Oak will provide a lasting impact by expanding the park’s natural canopy by approximately 17,600 square feet, helping to cool the surrounding area, improve air quality and provide a habitat for native wildlife.

“Partnerships like this are at the heart of what we do,” said Jennifer Cirillo, Parks and Recreation Director for Palm Beach County. “By working together with Community Greening, we’re helping to create greener, healthier neighborhoods. These trees will not only provide shade and beauty but will also serve as a living investment in the well-being of the Glades community.”

Triangle Park, located in Canal Point, serves as an important gathering space for residents. The addition of native shade trees will help strengthen the park’s role as a welcoming and environmentally sustainable public destination for years to come.
