John J. Gorski
Foundation President
John Gorski was President and CEO of NAMSA from 2006-2021. He earned his undergraduate degree in economics from Indiana University in 1987 and law degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego in 1991, where he also had published an international law journal article entitled, “An FDA-EEC Perspective on the International Acceptance of Foreign Clinical Data.” He was admitted to the California, Georgia and Ohio Bars.
Mr. Gorski served as a Deputy District Attorney for the San Diego County District Attorney’s office in the early 1990s and held roles in commercial law firms before joining NAMSA. After joining NAMSA in 1992, Mr. Gorski began in business development for several years, then grew to oversee several corporate legal and administrative functions which included regulatory submissions, interactions with FDA and other international bodies, Information Technology and Human Resource units. As CEO, Mr. Gorski led the culture, strategy, leadership, client service, financial, and compliance aspects of a global contract research organization providing consulting, laboratory, and clinical services to medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers. In 2020, he led the successful strategic restructuring of the company with a private equity partner and remains NAMSA’s Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Mergers and Acquisitions Committee. Mr. Gorski has served on and/or remains a member of several Boards of Directors/Trustees, including The Fremont Company, Signature Bank, Bio Ohio, Chair of the St. Aloysius Finance Council, the Toledo Opera Endowment, the Gorski Family Foundation, and the Parks Foundation for Palm Beach County (Florida). He also remains an active member of the Young President’s Organization in Ohio and Florida where he previously served as Membership, Forum, Education and Chapter Chairs.
